Choosing the right decking
The right decking depends on how you use the garden and how much time you want to spend looking after it. Composite boards cost more up front but need little more than an occasional wash, and they keep their colour without sanding or staining. Hardwood decking such as oak or iroko has a natural warmth underfoot that many customers prefer, and it ages beautifully over the years. Softwood is the most budget-friendly option and, with regular treatment, still gives years of service. When we visit, we look at how the garden faces, where the shade falls and what the space is used for, then recommend the boards that genuinely suit it and your budget.
Built on frames that don't fail
Most decking problems we're called out to come from the frame rather than the boards. A deck is only as good as what's underneath it, so we build sub-frames with correct joist spans, ventilation beneath the boards and fixings chosen for outdoor life. On sloping gardens we build raised platforms and split levels with steps and balustrades set at safe heights, turning awkward ground into space you can actually use. Everything is fitted by our own team, all waste is taken away and the garden is left tidy at the end of each day.
